AREQUIPA & COLCA CANYON

The Ausangate snow-capped mountain, one of Peru’s most imposing peaks, is not only a marvel of nature but also a site of deep spiritual significance. This is one of the least explored routes in the Cusco region. Trekking the Ausangate circuit offers a breathtaking natural spectacle: vibrant turquoise, emerald, and red lagoons shaped by minerals and ancient glaciers. The best time to explore Ausangate is between April and October, during the dry season. These months offer more stable weather and breathtaking views of the mountains and lagoons. The full circuit requires a minimum of 5 days and 4 nights of camping, allowing you to visit the main points of interest and fully immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes and rich cultural experience.

The Ausangate trek is challenging and recommended for travelers with experience in high-altitude hiking. The average elevation exceeds 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level, with ascents reaching up to 5,200 meters (17,060 feet). Good physical condition, prior acclimatization, and a willingness to camp in cold conditions are essential for this adventure.
CHOQUEQUIRAO/
MACHU PICHU
